Postdoc position: Senior Research Associate in Mathematical Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases. University of Bristol.

Closing date: 15th November 2020

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join a research team based within Population Health Sciences, Bristol Medical School at the University of Bristol.

You will join a collaborative team of mathematical modellers, epidemiologists, and health economists interested in the transmission dynamics of blood borne viruses, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other infections. Within this group, led by Professor Peter Vickerman, the post will undertake mathematical modelling and epidemiological analyses focussed on prevention and treatment needs for tackling the global epidemic of HIV, HBV and HCV, with a specific focus on high-risk groups such as people who inject drugs in lower, middle and high income settings. Specific settings of interest include Myanmar, Pakistan, Eastern Europe, sub-Saharan Africa and the USA.  As part of these projects you will be involved in the technical aspect of modelling, epidemiological analyses and possibly economic evaluations, and will collaborate with other modellers, health economists and epidemiologists in this team.

For further information please contact Peter Vickerman (peter.vickerman@bristol.ac.uk) or Hannah Fraser (hannah.fraser@bristol.ac.uk)
