Two 3-Year Post-Doc positions at the interface of developmental biology and mathematical modelling

  • University of Cambridge & University of Aberdeen, UK
We are seeking to hire two talented and creative researchers to take part in a highly interdisciplinary project in quantitative developmental biology, based at the University of Cambridge and the University of Aberdeen.

The overall aim of the project is to understand how developing embryos can self-organize into complex structures via mechanisms that are remarkably robust to changes in tissue geometry and overall embryo size. Our approach is to develop sophisticated mathematical models – informed by high resolution imaging data – to understand this counterintuitive “size-invariance” phenomenon.

If you are a computational biologist / mathematician / physicist / expert in dynamical systems or PDEs and are interested in applying your theoretical skills to a fundamental question in developmental biology, then please see the following link below: https://thenode.biologists.com/jobs/modellingdevelopment/
