Following the success of its first edition, we are pleased to announce the opening of registration for the second edition of the Theoretical Biology Days (J-BioT 2026), which will take place in Grenoble on November 9-10, 2026.

This year's meeting will focus on “Dynamic and Evolutionary Processes: Models and Concepts” and will feature invited keynote lectures, contributed presentations by researchers and postdoctoral fellows, as well as short presentations by PhD students, with the aim of fostering exchanges between scientific communities and researchers at different career stages.

The 2026 edition will place particular emphasis on approaches from dynamical systems theory and complex systems to understand the mechanisms of adaptation and evolution in biological and artificial systems. Concepts such as attractors, bifurcations, chaos, state transitions, and dynamic landscapes, including those inspired by Waddington's epigenetic landscape, will provide common threads throughout the discussions.

The meeting will explore how modeling and simulation tools can help us understand the connections between adaptive dynamics, plasticity, and evolutionary processes in complex biological systems.

Contributed talks and posters are welcome and can be proposed during the registration process following this link : https://sfbt.math.cnrs.fr/jbiot2026.html

These Days are free of charge for members of the French-Speaking Society for Theoretical Biology (SFBT) and are open to everyone upon registration. They aim to bring together established researchers, early-career scientists, and students from a wide range of disciplines, with the goal of strengthening interactions across scientific communities and fostering an interdisciplinary forum for reflection on the theoretical foundations of living systems.

We look forward to welcoming you to Grenoble for this occasion!
