The conference “Dynamics of biological systems: emergent phenomena at different scales” is aimed at gathering researchers working in the fields of quantitative biology, neurobiology, biophysics, and physics. The focus of the conference is to discuss emergent behaviours that arise in biological systems, ranging from single cells, through tissues, organs, and organisms, to population scales. We want to highlight how biological phenomena can be understood using theoretical and computational models.

 The conference contributions will be divided into three main tracks, including:
(1) Complexity of life on Earth and beyond,
(2) Patterns in biological systems,
(3) Natural and artificial neural networks.

We also welcome contributions that investigate computational or experimental methods that could be used to uncover emergent properties of biological systems.

Registration is free. Participants who want to present during the conference are encouraged to submit a short abstract for a talk. The contributed talks will be between 15-20 minutes. Depending on the number of contributions, we might offer short oral contributions (5 minutes) or poster presentations.

The conference will be both stationary and online. The on-site presence is welcome. The talks will take place at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science, Jagiellonian University, Kraków. Poland.
